ASTM A312 TP304L Pipe

The ASTM A312 TP304L Pipe is basically a low-carbon version of 304 stainless steel type that was primarily designed for high-temperature service and harsh corrosive media. Having lesser carbon content, this minimises carbide precipitation in the structure during welding, thereby offering better resistance to intergranular corrosion and eliminating the need for any annealing after welding.

● Material Composition: It contains 18-20% chromium and 8-13% nickel, which gives TP304L a strong capacity for corrosion resistance.

● Resistance to Corrosion: The composition of the alloy makes it highly resistant to the corrosion of a wide range of media. In this respect, this is suitable for applications pertaining to chemical processing, as well as the petrochemical industry.

● High-Temperature Suitability: Recommended in high-temperature applications, TP304L is stable structurally even when under thermal stress.

● Compliance to Standards: The ASTM A312, for Seamless, Straight-Seam Welded, and Heavily Cold Worked Welded Austenitic Stainless Steel Pipes, is intended for High Temperature and General Corrosive Service.

● Dimensions: Available in nominal pipe sizes from 1/8" to 30"; in wall thickness, Schedule 5S to Schedule 80S.

● Mechanical Properties: Tensile strength ≥ 485 MPa, yield strength ≥ 170 MPa, to be robust in heavy applications.
