ASTM A270 TP316L Pipe

ASTM A270 TP316L pipe is a type of TP316 grade pipe that has been described as low carbon, with a maximum carbon content of 0.035 %. Because the carbon content is low, it is understood to be a pipe with superior anti-corrosive properties even after welding. This means that intergranular corrosion is minimal, which in turn means that TP316L is ideal for corrosive atmospheres that undergo a lot of welding.

Features

● Material Composition: It has TP316 properties except that it has a carbon content of a maximum of 0.035%, which improves its intergranular corrosion susceptibility.

● Enhanced Weldability: The precipitation of carbides during welding is low, which helps retain the metallurgical structure of the welded joints, including the heat affected zones.

● Mechanical Properties: 585 MPa minimum for tensile strength and yield strength of 215 MPa allow for decent ductility and strength to be achieved.

Applications

This type of pipe can be used in places where the products are being produced, or the types of machinery being used require an extensive amount of cleanliness and anti-corrosive properties, be it cleaning agents or the environment. Since these pipes meet the specification of ASTM A270, it means that they can be used for hygienic applications, and restrictions have been to a very high level.
