The ASTM A270 TP304L steel pipe is designed with a low composition of carbon for improved performance and welded structures. An intergranular type of corrosion, as well as low carbon content with a limit of up to 0.035%, has been designed and developed to serve this purpose. The pipe maintains all the desirable traits of the TP304 steel while developing better performance in welded parts.
● Material Composition: The material is similar to TP304. However, it has a lower percentage of carbon (not more than 0.035), which helps to reduce the chances of carbide precipitation during welding.
● Enhanced Weldability: The low carbon content minimises carbide precipitation during welding, which allows corrosion resistance to be retained in heat affected zones.
● Mechanical Properties: Has a minimum tensile strength of 585 MPa and yield strength of 210 MPa, ensuring adequate strength for different uses.
Best suited for sectors which require repeated welding, such as sanitary systems for food, pharmaceuticals and dairy systems. Mostly used for manufacturing storage tanks, processing machinery and piping systems, where it's important to keep up with sterilisation standards.
